PANAJI: Starting July 1, the Goa government can serve notices to citizens in electronic form via cell phone, computer or any other communication device subject to their consent in writing for receiving of notices via this mode.
Goa government has notified July 1, 2024, as the date from which the Goa Electronic Delivery of Notices Act, 2022 (Goa Act 16 of 2022) will come into force in the state.
As per the Act any notice which is required to be given under such State law or rules and regulations, to any person, may be sent via electronic devices like cell phone, computer or any other device via email, web-based forms etc, where such person or his authorized representative gives consent in writing for service of notice on him by such mode.
Notices would include summons, requisition, direction, process, or any other similar mode of communication being used to inform, warn or direct any person under any State law or proceeding.
