PANAJI: Leader of the opposition, Yuri Alemao slammed the Sawant-led government for reducing the winter session to just two days, February 6 and 7. He said it is clear that the leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are scared of being implicated in a number of scams, such as the land grab and job-for-cash schemes.
Alemao stated that other from Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai’s speech, no business will be conducted throughout the two days.

“The Speaker ought to have stepped in and forced the administration to consent to a longer session. However, Alemao claimed that he simply raises his hands in deference to the whims of the authorities.
“We, the opposition MLAs, will convene shortly to determine how to address this situation, as the government is determined to stifle democracy,” he continued.
