PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said that his government has already begun the process of setting up mining corporation.

Dr Pramod Sawant-led BJP government on had announced the setting up of the Goa State Mining Corporation (GSMC), for which, a Bill would be introduced in the ongoing Budget Session of the State Legislative Assembly.
The Chief Minister in his State Budget 2021-22 speech on the Floor of the House, also proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd (MECL) to carry out mapping of mineral resources in the State and identify potential mining sites.
