PANAJI: Minister Vishwjit Rane said that flaws in the RP-2021 and ODPs, if any, are being identified and will be rectified if the need arises.
“Flaws in the RP-2021 and ODPs, if any, are being identified and will be rectified if the need arises. Inputs from Water Conservation Policies, State Action Plans for Climate Change, etc., will be taken into account,” said Rane.
He further said that low-lying areas like a paddy field, khazan lands and other water bodies have been identified in the RP-2021 and protected under Eco Zone 1 where no developments are permitted.
“Development of properties having more than one hecter with canopy density over 0.1 are regulated by way of obtaining clearance/ recommendation from Forest Department before granting Conversion Sanad/permissions,” he added.
Rane said that spatial plans for urban areas are prepared in consultation with the Municipal Council. The Zoning Plan for local planning areas as provided under Section 17 D of the Goa Town and Country Planning Act also mandates consultation with the local bodies.
Meanwhile, Minister said that Government is yet to decide on the preparation of the new Regional Plan 2031.
