Vasco: Minority community locals from Maimollem met Vasco MLA Krishna Daji Salkar during the inspection carried out on Monday in the presence of police and South Western Railway representatives after a few graves were damaged during the railway track expansion work on Sunday.
On Monday morning, Minority community locals demanded before South Western Railway representatives that a clear-cut demarcation of Kabrastan and the Railway property.
Earlier on Sunday, the South Western Railway was busy doing the expansion work for double-tracking near Kabrastan in Maimollem area. During this work, few graves reportedly were damaged, which irked some locals from the minority who along with the South Western Railway representatives, Vasco MLA Daji Salkar, along with the Vasco police, held a site inspection of Maimollem Kabrastan.
After the inspection, Vasco MLA Krishna Daji Salkar told the media that this issue would be solved after finding an amicable solution with a discussion with the South Western Railway representatives and the minority community locals.
Salkar also assured us that the problem would be solved and added that nobody should try to politicize this issue.
Some locals from the Minority community also said that they had got an assurance from the Vasco MLA Daji Salkar that he would put forth this issue before South Western Railway representatives and would find an amicable solution to this.
The locals also demand that the clear-cut demarcation of the Maimollem Kabrastan area and the railway’s area need to be done.
