PANAJI: Kala Academy Goa commemorated the 50th Konkani Drama Competition with a special programme held at Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir in Panaji, celebrating the rich legacy of Konkani theatre.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar to renowned Konkani playwright Pundalik Naik in recognition of his outstanding lifelong contribution to Konkani theatre and literature.
Several eminent personalities who have made significant contributions to the growth and promotion of Konkani drama were also felicitated during the programme.
The event was attended by Shripad Yesso Naik, Ramesh Tawadkar, Kala Academy Chairman Babu Kavlekar, Goa Konkani Akademi President Dr Purnanand Chari, and other distinguished dignitaries, who lauded the enduring contribution of Konkani theatre to Goa’s cultural identity.
