However, after Malik’s U-turn, the Opposition leaders have suddenly disappeared from the scene, and their silence is deafening.
Not even once, in the last three days, Opposition leader Digambar Kamat, Goa Forward President Vijai Sardesai, independent MLA Rohan Khaunte have named the Kartaa Dharta” Vishwajit Rane in the scam.
What kind of immunity is this? What is the secret deal between Vishwajit and the Opposition MLAs?
The leaders who claim to be fighting corruption cannot see clearly, who was calling the shots in purchases?
Of Course, the Opposition, especially Sardesai, Khaunte and Dhavalikar, want to settle their scores with the CM for their unceremonious departure from the government, or may I call it sacking.
By no way I am trying to defend the CM Dr Pramod Sawant. He is equally responsible for the scam.

Hell broke down in Goa a couple of days before when the former Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik, in an interview to India today, said that there was corruption in anything and everything the Goa government did, especially during the COVID19 pandemic.
However, Malik, now Governor of Meghalaya, has now claimed that he neither named the Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant of corruption nor was he on a mission to defame the BJP government in the State. He also said the Opposition should not use his statement to demand the resignation of CM.
More importantly, in a telephonic conversation, he said there was corruption in COVID19 purchases, and he stands by the statement.
“You can ask the concerned minister,” Malik said.
Malik may have given a clean chit to the Chief Minister, but he maintains there was corruption, and he stands by his statement.
One has to conclude that for corruption in any government, the head of the government is responsible; in this case, it is the chief minister. The CM has to take responsibility and has to answer.

I remember having met CM and giving details about the COVID19 purchases scam. The exorbitant rates at which purchases were made. Had also informed that most of the members in the Joint Purchase Committee were close confidantes of the Health Minister. But the CM, as usual, ignored them. Had he acted then, the situation could have been different.
Mind you, the meeting with CM was in the interest of Goa and not personal enmity with HM.
After my expose in the Herald on August 20, 2021, the cut-outs of the newspaper went viral, and almost everyone was talking of the scam, but neither the CM nor the Opposition spoke a word on it.
How can the Opposition, which waits for the smallest mistake of CM to pounce on it, ignore such a huge scam?
It looks like in the rarest of rare cases, the CM and the Opposition are also part of this cartel to loot Goa along with the Health Minister.
Even in the Oxygen shortage cases killing thousands of Goans, which was clearly a scam of the Health Minister, as he allowed Sanjeev Naik of M/s Scoop Industries to be the only Oxygen supplier to all government hospitals in Goa; the Opposition spoke nothing.
After the Goemkarponn exposes, the CM acted, and CMO took over the Oxygen supply in all COVID19 hospitals. He also scrapped the JPC.
Again the Opposition was at its best; they continued attacking the CM but no word on Health Minister.
Now that Malik has given a clean chit to the CM and the Health Minister is immune to any attack from the Opposition, where does Goans go to get justice?
One has to understand that we Goans have to blame ourselves and nobody else – we get what we vote for, so use your brains and vote wisely coming elections.
