PANAJI: Indian Meteurological Centre (IMD) in its forecast has said that Goa will witness heavy rainfall of 6.4 cms from September 27 to September 29.
“The increase in rainfall activity is because the low-pressure area formed over Bay of Bengal on 24th September has intensified further into Deep Depression and lays centered over northwest & adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal,” the IMD has predicted
IMD has further said it is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during the next 6 hours. It is likely to move nearly westwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts betweenVishakhapatnam and Gopalpur around Kalingapatnam by evening of 26th September,2021.
“With westward movement of this system, rainfall activity is likely to increase over Goa from around Sept 26,” said IMD
Meanwhile, the IMD has said that fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas during the above mentioned period from September 27 to 29.
