PANAJI: IMD Goa today has issuesd a yellow alert for Goa from May 8 and 9 along with thunderstorms associated with lightning and wind gusting from 30-40kmph at isolated places over Goa.
The IMD has advised people to take necessary precautions while venturing outdoors during these two days.
According to the meteorological department, light to moderate rain or thundershowers is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of North Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on March 9 and 10, followed by light thundershowers in North Konkan districts.
The districts of South Konkan-Goa and South Madhya Maharashtra will also see partly cloudy weather conditions that are very likely to prevail.
As a result, the region will witness a gradual fall in maximum temperatures by 2-3 deg C over parts during the next 3-4 days and rise thereafter during the subsequent two days. No large change in maximum temperatures over the Gujarat region during the next 4-5 days, said IMD.
