Doha: The India U17 Men’s National Football Team played out a goalless draw against Qatar in their second international friendly at the Suheim bin Hamad Stadium, concluding their pre-tournament preparations on a disciplined note.
The closely contested encounter saw both sides testing each other’s defensive organisation, but neither team managed to find the breakthrough. India displayed improved structure and composure, particularly at the back, to keep a clean sheet against a competitive opponent.
This was the Blue Colts’ final outing before heading into the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026. In their previous friendly, India had held Qatar to a 1-1 draw, reflecting consistent performances across both matches.
With preparations now complete, India will shift focus to their opening group-stage clash against Australia on May 6 in Jeddah. The team will aim to carry forward the defensive solidity and build momentum as they step onto the continental stage.
The back-to-back draws against Qatar provide valuable match experience and confidence for the young squad as they gear up for a challenging tournament ahead.
