PANAJI: The Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG) announced that the e-auction of more than 5.2 million metric tons of iron ore will now start on January 30 instead of January 22 as previously planned.
For 18 iron ore dumps spread over multiple locations that are up for e-auction, up to 125 bids have been received. The settlements of Bandoli and Cormonem have the largest dump, totaling almost 14 lakh metric tons, while Sonus Vonvoliem has 11.7 lakh metric tons.
According to DMG’s updated schedule, the e-auction will start on January 30 and run through February 4.
Additionally, the DMG has stated that the names of technically qualified offers would be revealed on January 28 rather than January 20, as was previously agreed.
Eight dumps totaling 1,23,2,262 tons of ore located in Costi, Codli, Dudal, Sancordem, and Santona village will be up for e-auction on January 30.
On February 3, a further five dumps located in Rivona, Costi, Shigao, and Collem will be put up for e-auction. There are approximately 1,07,02,052 tons in all.
On February 4, the remaining five dumps will go up for auction. These can be found at Sircaim, Honda, and other locations.
According to the agency’s dump profile analysis, the dump grade varies between 45 and 50 Fe concentration.
According to DMG, the dumps are being sold as-is, where-is, and DMG will not be held accountable for the amount, caliber, or recovery of iron ore from the dumps.
