PANAJI: With Covid situation in Goa is worsening day by day, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar has questioned whether Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant preparing for Pyres and Graves?
“All the hospitals are working beyond its capacity. Patients are put on floors, stretchers and chairs as there are no beds available. What next?” he questioned.
He said the entire system has collapsed.
“The Health Minister and Chief Minister are busy scoring political brownie points on each other. People are suffering. Government is clueless and has no plan of action in place. How will Covid infected patients survive, if there is no treatment facility available. The only option left to them is to die as the insensitive BJP Government failed to create adequate medical facilities in last one year despite knowing that second wave of Covid may hit anytime,” stated Girish Chodankar.
He said that all hospitals including GMC, South and North Goa District Hospitals, ESI & others are working beyond its Capacity.
“The situation is almost same in private hospitals. Our Covid Control Room is getting calls every minute asking for help. We are struggling as there are no beds available and no mechanism put in place by the Government to give information to public on Covid handling and management,” he stated.
He said that yesterday Health Minister posted on his verified Facebook account that in coming days 200-300 deaths will occur in Goa.
“He later deleted the tweet. People want to know whether he posted to warn people with the reality or create panic? Did he delete the tweet after getting warning from Modi-Shah duo or Goa’s Super Chief Minister ordered him to do so,” Girish Chodankar questioned.
He said the Health Ministers revelation although withdrawn later indicate that BJP Government has left all hopes in Covid Management and are now preparing action plan to arrange pyres and graves.
“The “Diya Jalav, Taali Bajav, Thaali Bajav” of publicity obsessed Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now culminated into “Burning of Pyres” and “Lighting of Candles on Graves” of thousand succumbing to Covid due to non-availability of Oxygen, Medicines and Covid Treatment,” he said.
He said the BJP continues to remain in Celebrations mode, organising “Tika Utsavs” taking political mileage.
