PONDA: Shortly after Ponda JMFC granted bail to Pooja Naik, the main suspect in the Cash for Jobs scam, she was taken into custody by Bicholim Police.
Naik obtained bail on Tuesday after being detained by Mardol police six days prior on suspicion of defrauding people by offering them government jobs.
Naik was arrested by Bicholim Police in relation to another cheating case, and according to police sources, she may soon be arrested again for identical offenses.
Based on her admissions and phone records, investigations have shown Pooja Naik’s ties to a number of government figures.
She is also facing numerous allegations at the Porvorim police station for allegedly promising a career as a junior engineer in the PWD.
