PANAJI: Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Fr. Agnel College of Arts & Commerce, Pilar, V.M. Salgaocar College of Law and Don Bosco College, Panjim score wins in the Goa University Inter Collegiate Football Championship 2024-25 for Women.
At Goa University Ground
In the First match of the day at Goa University Ground, Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao triumphed over Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Margao in a tie-breaker, finishing with a score of 3-2 after the match concluded with a score of 0-0 in its stipulated time. During the tie-breaker, Prida Fernandes, Jwelly Dias, and Tamanna Prajith successfully converted their attempts for Kare College of Law, while Ajury Silva and Raynel Dias scored for Don Bosco College of Engineering.
In the second match, Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College of Arts & Commerce, Canacona triumphed over Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim in a tie-breaker, concluding with a score of 3-2 after the match ended in a 1-1 score after completion of full time. The first half saw both teams unable to score, resulting in a 0-0 score as they exerted considerable effort to find the net. In the second half, Narayan Zantye took the lead in the 33rd minute with a goal from Ms. Dikshita Satardekar; however, Shree Mallikarjun College quickly equalized in the 44th minute through a goal by Ms. Latika Gaude. During the tie-breaker, Shree Mallikarjun College goals were scored by Latika Gaude, Deepansha Pagi, and Paloma Disilva, while Narayan Zantye College managed to score two goals through Vineesha Dhargalkar and Dikshita Dasar.
In the third match, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim, secured a decisive victory over Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management, Porvorim, with a final score of 4-0, having scored 2 goals in each half. During the first half, Ms. Swellen Fernandes showcased her skills by netting 2 goals in the 4th and 7th minute.
In the second half, she further contributed to the score line with an additional goal in the 42nd minute, while Aniela Barretto concluded the match with a goal in the 47th minute.
At Rosary College Ground
In the opening match of the day at Rosary ground, Fr. Agnel College of Arts & Commerce, Pilar, triumphed over M.E.S Vasant Joshi College of Arts & Commerce, Zuarinagar, with a final score of 2-0. During the first half, both teams endeavored to secure the initial goal however, their efforts were thwarted by the strong defensive plays from both sides, resulting in a stalemate.
The breakthrough came in the second half when Ms. Francy Carvalho netted the first goal for Fr. Agnel College in the 41st minute, setting the stage for their eventual victory.
As the match continued, Fr. Agnel College further cemented their lead with an additional goal scored by Ms. Shalomi Parab in the 53rd minute.
The second match of the day at the Rosary ground saw V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar triumph over P.E.S’s Rajaram & Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy, Farmagudi, concluding with a score of 3-0. Despite the efforts of P.E.S. Pharmacy College’s defence, V.M. Salgaocar was able to secure a single goal in the first half, scored by Sakshi Naik in the 3rd minute.
In the second half, V.M. Salgaocar added two more goals to solidify their victory, with contributions from Ms. Mackline Ribeira in the 39th minute and Ms. Anabel Noronha in the 52nd minute.
In the third match, Don Bosco College, Panjim achieved a straightforward victory over the Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Quepem, concluding the game with a score of 3-0. During the first half, Don Bosco College established their lead by netting two goals, with Ms. Karen Estrocio scoring in the 16th minute and Ms. Blessica Rodrigues adding another in the 25th minute. In the second half, Don Bosco College further secured their triumph as Ms. Karen Estrocio found the back of the net once more in the 37th minute.
