PANAJI: DGP Jaspal Singh IPS today urged citizens to keep the social media platforms civilized and not let it tear our social fabric apart.
“Think before you act on Social media posts as it may be fake, diversionary or disinformation by anti- social elements. Verify, fact- check before you believe and forward. Keep the platform civilized, don’t let it tear our social fabric apart,” said Singh.
“It has also been seen that these antisocial individuals recycle previous posts. Citizens are asked not to be swayed by such anti-social elements, even if criminal cases have been registered in this regard and an investigation is ongoing, the DGP added.
When such posts are published on social media, Singh encouraged the public to refrain from protesting and to report the instances to the police so that they can take appropriate action.
These nefarious individuals would be successful in their plans.
if individuals continue to stage protests or publish oppositional content in response to such posts.
