ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have registered a case against the owner/manager of M/s Kiki By The Sea at Assagao for allegedly violating noise pollution norms by playing music beyond the permissible time and prescribed sound limits.
Anjuna Police registered FIR Cr. No. 99/2026 at 7.39 pm on September 9, 2026, under Section 5 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, and Section 15 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
The case was registered following an email received from the Goa State Pollution Control Board and a complaint lodged by PSI Amir Taral of Anjuna Police Station.
According to the complaint, on September 8, music was allegedly played at M/s Kiki By The Sea from 11 pm until midnight, extending into September 9. During the inspection, the sound level was recorded at 69.50 dB(A), which was found to be beyond the permissible limit.
Police stated that the alleged violation resulted in noise pollution in the locality and constituted a contravention of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, as well as the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
The investigation in the case is being conducted by PSI Amir Taral of Anjuna Police Station.
