PANAJI: The Minister for Transport Mauvin Godinho has said that the Kadamba Transport Corporation currently has no buses over the age of 15.
“KTCL has already scrapped 16 Nos buses which were above 15 yrs of age. Currently, there are no KTCL buses with the age of 15 yrs or more,” he said replying to a question tabled by St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar.
Further, Borkar asked what action plan the KTC have when more buses attain the age of 15.
Godinho replied, “20 Nos. 9meter buses are received by KTCL under the smart city project and 60th year of liberation celebration fund. Delivery of the balance 28Nos E buses under the above programme/ scheme is expected to be delivered by August 2023. Under FAME India scheme phase II, KTCL will be receiving additional 99 Nos. Electric Buses and as per operator, delivery of 1st lot of 20 Nos. 9-meter Electric Buses are expected to be delivered in August 2023,” eh said.
On bus service to Cujira complex minister said, there is demand\request to start bus service to cater to Educational complex at Cujira.
“Operation of additional buses will be considered once new buses are inducted in the KTCL fleet. The government has received 71 EV buses and procured 127 more EV buses. The Majhi bus scheme is launched by KTCL,” he said.
