VASCO: Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd chairman Ulhas Tuyekar assured to restart of the interstate Malwan-Sada and Sada-Vengurla bus services over the demand of the Goa First NGO. Tuyekar urged Goa First to submit its memorandum to the KTCL official.
Speaking to the reporter, Parshuram Sonurlekar, president of Goa First NGO, said that the NGO has requested the KTC management to restart the Headland Sada- Vengurla, Korjai, Malvan and Vasco- Sawantwadi bus service as these bus services were stopped because of Covid 19 pandemic.”
A considerable number of the population from the Bardez, Pernem Taluka and the state of Maharashtra resides in Mormugao Taluka. These buses, which go to Sawantwadi, Korjai, Malvan and Vengurla, become a direct link to their native place.
The people of Mormugao, especially the elderly, students and office going staff, have suffered since these interstate buses stopped two years back. With the cases of Covid having now decreased and the covid norms having been relaxed, the Goa First Ngo has requested KTCL to restart all these inter-state buses with immediate effect.
When contacted, Ulhas Tuyekar, Chairman of Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd(KTCL), said that “if these bus services are of so much importance to certain sections of the people, then I will discuss this issue with our KTCL Manager Sanjay Ghate and will try to restart these bus services.”
Tuyekar also suggested that the Goa First NGO could also send its memorandum to the KTCL official in this regard.
