There have been three major law and order incidents in the law one week.
A day after the counting of votes in Goa, the farmers from the mining belt of Pissurlem reported a bloody attack from the Valpoi police and their alleged crime- trying to get their farms free of mining dumps.
According to the farmers, Valpoi police allegedly assaulted and arrested those waiting for the Mamlatdar at a mine in Pissurlem to register their protest transportation and dumping of iron ore on their fields without following the High Court directives.
The DGP announced that PI Sagar Ekoskar had been suspended for alleged assault on farmers.
A week after that, two constables were placed under suspension last night as they brutally assaulted a youth at Kodar Ponda during Holi celebrations.
The pictures of the injured youth have gone viral on social media, proving police brutality.
Again in another Holi-related incident at Sada, Bogda, there was a gang war or a political war between Sankalp Amonkar and Milind Naik supporters (as claimed by CM Pramod Sawant). The police have rounded-up nine miscreants so far.

For the past several days, the Law and Order situation in the State of Goa seems to be going out of control as the anti-social elements seems to have no fear of law-enforcing authorities as there is no government in place.
Even nine days after the results were announced on March 10, the BJP, which has emerged as the single largest party with 20 seats, is still dilly-dallying over the government formation, while the Goa Governor acts as a silent spectator.
This has given the licence to the police for inflicting brutalities on innocent people and so also has encouraged the anti-social elements to take the law into their hands.

Even with three such critical incidents in Goa, the Governor is unmoved as the BJP has failed to finalise their CM or the Cabinet ministers.
Considering the violent incidences, the Caretaker CM, Dr Pramod Sawant, has limited powers to take any action, and it is of utmost importance to have an elected government in place to act against the policemen and the gangsters.
As alleged by CM, if it is post-poll violence in Goa, aka West Bengal, it is a matter of grave concern as such incidences have never been reported in the State of Goa at least.
If the BJP or the Congress, which instead of staking claim of forming a government, is involved in a war of words, it is high time the Governor Mr Pillai imposes President’s rule until the BJP is fully prepared to form a government after an amicable settlement between Vishwajit Rane and Dr PRamod Sawant.
Surely, things cannot be dragged too long, and the caretaker CM does have limited powers. But the ball is now in Governor’s court, who has been simply watching the game as a fence-sitter, waiting and waiting for somebody from the BJP to come to knock on his doors and stake claim to form the next government.
However, Goa is turning out to be another Bihar or West Bengal in the bargain as Governor’s long wait for BJP continues.
