PANAJI: Minister Michael Lobo today demanded that the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is in need of the hour today and should be established immediately.
“I purely believe that jobs must be given on merit, and there should not be any injustice. Late Parrikar had once said in the assembly that he would establish Staff Selection Commission or board; This should be established as soon as possible,” said Lobo speaking to reporters.
He further said that there are various allegations with respect to scams and that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should look into the matter.
“CM should look into the matter, and whatever is right should be done. If I am a part of the next government, will see that Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is established and functional,” he added.
Lobo said that many candidates who have applied for jobs and answered exams feel that they cannot get such low marks when toppers in exams at the SSC and HSSC levels.
Yesterday, Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserrate revealed that PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar and Minister Michael Lobo almost got into a verbal duel in a starred hotel over the issue.
On Saturday, Babush also demanded scrapping the list of selected candidates as eligible candidates were denied the jobs. According to him, the Chief Minister will meet the concerned with regards to the issue.
