PANAJI: Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao has strongly condemned the Goa Police for registering an FIR against activists demanding justice for Rama Kankonkar. Alemao said the action exposes the BJP government’s attempt to intimidate citizens seeking justice.
“It is surprising that the FIR was filed only after 11 days of our peaceful protests. The police have become puppets of this government and failed to uphold their oath,” Alemao said.
He added that such actions will not deter the opposition or the people of Goa from raising their voice against lawlessness and urged Goans to “save Goa” from the ruling party’s arrogance ahead of the 2027 elections.
