PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has pledged to investigate the requests made by the Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD).
“All of these issues need to be addressed, and the demands made by GARD are legitimate.” I will take my time talking to the Chief Minister, GARD, and the Dean about the legitimate demands, which I wholeheartedly support.
Rane stated, “In the meanwhile, I will also ask the dean to expedite the consideration of all of these recommendations.
He was addressing at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, during the newly elected GARD committee’s installation ceremony. GARD made a number of demands during the ceremony, including a pay raise and the construction of a new GARD hostel.
“There are a lot of things that need to be transformed and changed in GMC,” continued Rane. The Super Speciality Block (SSB) needs to be transformed into a cutting-edge hospital and put back into full operation.
Doctor Relation Officers (DROs) have been appointed so that doctors can contact them in times of need, according to GMC Dean Dr. Shivanand Bandekar.
“We have already established a hostel committee made up of top professors and wardens in response to the demand for hostels. We’ll take a seat and assess the needs. As it is urgently needed, we would work to obtain a new GARD hostel, Bandekar stated.
Dr. Aayush Sharma is the new president of the GARD committee; Dr. Dhairyasheel Patil is the vice-president; Dr. Viraj Dessai is the general secretary; and Dr. Soumik Sen is the joint secretary.
