PANAJI: Mahipal Sinh Parmar, Priyansh Sawant Dessai, Amaira Dhumatker and Anvitha Poojari secured their places in the U11 singles finals at the Sunlite State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2026, with the semifinals producing several impressive performances at the Indoor Stadium, Campal.
In the U11 Boys’ section, Mahipal Sinh Parmar pulled off a notable upset by defeating top seed Shloke Utagi 15-8, 15-13. Fourth seed Priyansh Sawant Dessai also produced a confident display, beating Aariketh Chari 15-6, 15-13 to earn his place in the title clash.
Top seed Amaira Dhumatker continued her dominant campaign in the U11 Girls’ category with a commanding 15-1, 15-0 victory over third seed Yashika Koneru. Anvitha Poojari completed the finalists with a 15-6, 15-2 win against fourth seed Saachi Sinai Kenkre.
The U13 semifinals also delivered competitive encounters. In the Boys’ category, top seed Michael Mare defeated Anav Kannekar 15-6, 15-8, while Pratik Naik Borkar overcame Vedh Lotliker 15-12, 15-12.
In the U13 Girls’ section, Amaira Dhumatker advanced after defeating Anvitha Poojari 15-3, 15-3. Komal Kothari joined her in the final with a 15-6, 15-10 victory over seventh seed Aditi Dhargalkar.
The U9 finals line-up was also confirmed, with top seeds Rafael De Ataide and Oorvi Khyalia progressing alongside Divyam Singh and Samaira Velip.
The tournament is being organised by Sunlite Sports and Cultural Club in association with the Goa Badminton Association, bringing together promising young shuttlers from across the state.
