VASCO: Vasco Police have arrested a Dabolim resident for allegedly attempting to steal an iron component from a crane parked near the under-construction road overbridge at Dabolim.
According to police, the case was registered following a complaint lodged by Harjit Singh, a resident of Dabolim originally from Punjab. The complainant alleged that at around 9 pm on July 19, the accused, identified as Ismail Rehman Raichur of Dabolim, attempted to steal a 3-kg iron pin from the toolbox of a parked crane near Vishal Mega Mart with dishonest intent.
Police registered an offence under Sections 303(2) and 62 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused.
Further investigation is being conducted by Head Constable Devidas Palyekar of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of Police Inspector Vaibhav Naik and the guidance of Mormugao Deputy Superintendent of Police Gurudas Kadam.
