VASCO: Vasco Police have registered a case against a man for allegedly assaulting a couple, obstructing traffic and later resisting police intervention at New Vaddem, Vasco.
According to a complaint filed by Santosh Prajapati, a resident of Vaddem, the incident occurred at around 8.30 pm on September 19 near the water tank at New Vaddem.
Police said the accused, identified as Samir alias Chammu, a resident of New Vaddem, allegedly assaulted the complainant and his wife with fist blows. The accused allegedly further assaulted the complainant with a stone and a knuckle, causing injuries to both of them.
The accused also allegedly obstructed and disrupted the normal movement of traffic at the spot, affecting the free and orderly movement of vehicles.
When police personnel intervened and attempted to control the situation, the accused allegedly resisted their intervention and assaulted police personnel while they were carrying out their official duties.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Suresh Velip of Vasco Police Station.
