MOPA: Mopa Airport Police have registered a case against a 37-year-old man for allegedly conducting gambling activities in a public place at Chandel, Pernem.
According to police, the offence was registered on July 27 based on a complaint filed by ASI Nitesh Naik. At around 4.35 pm, the police allegedly caught Gokuldas Suresh Desai, a resident of Dabiwadi, Kalane in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, red-handed near Nana Wine Shop, Chandel.
Police said the accused was allegedly conducting a game of chance by accepting money from members of the public and issuing paper slips in an open public place.
During the operation, police seized ₹1,900 in different denominations along with other gambling-related articles from his possession.
Further investigation is being carried out by ASI Nitesh Naik of Mopa Airport Police Station.
