PANAJI: Panaji Police have arrested a 22-year-old man after allegedly recovering 1 kg of suspected ganja during a late-night raid at Nagali Hills in Taleigao.
According to police, the offence was registered at around 4 am on July 28 based on a complaint filed by PSI Mahesh Naik. Acting on specific information, a police team conducted a raid between 11.15 pm on July 27 and 1.30 am on July 28 near the Krishna Temple at Nagali Hills, Taleigao.
During the operation, the police allegedly caught Sudhama Kumar, originally from Khagaria district in Bihar and presently residing near Sateri Temple at Nagali, Taleigao, in possession of 1,000 grams of a greenish leafy, fruiting and flowering substance suspected to be the narcotic drug ganja.
Police stated that the seized contraband is estimated to be worth around ₹1 lakh in the international market.
