MARGAO: Margao Police have arrested Maria Luiza Fernandes e Kudchodkar, a resident of Karwar, Karnataka, in connection with an alleged abduction case registered following a property dispute.
According to police, the case stems from a complaint lodged on July 24, 2026, by 20-year-old student Diya Sanjeel Kudchodkar, a resident of Gogol, Margao.
In her complaint, Diya alleged that at around 12.50 pm on July 24, her mother, Maria Luiza Fernandes e Kudchodkar, along with two unidentified persons, allegedly abducted her father, Sanjeel Satish Kudchodkar, from Vasant Arcade Building at Comba, Margao.
The complainant stated that the accused allegedly forced her father into a Maruti Suzuki Celerio bearing registration number GA-08-M-1669 and took him away. The alleged incident is stated to have arisen out of an ongoing property dispute between the parties.
Following the registration of the case, Margao Police launched an investigation and subsequently traced and arrested Maria Luiza Fernandes e Kudchodkar from Karwar, Karnataka.
Police said further investigation is in progress to trace the two unidentified persons allegedly involved in the incident and ascertain all the circumstances surrounding the case.
