CANACONA: Stating Sa-re-ga-ma-pa-ni-sa in music tunes bring prosperity in human life, Arts & Culture Minister Govind Gaude said that music has the magic power that can change things alike alchemy to ward-off physical ailments.
Speaking further Gaude said ‘Music relieves stress, refreshes and freshen up the soul. This tradition of music is important and that only then one gets proficiency. ‘
Gaude was speaking after inaugring at the Canacona Kalakar Sangh organised in memory of Pt. Govind Rao Agni and Anjanibai Lolyekar 17th Sangeet Samelan in the autorium of Sanjay Bandekar at Lata Mangueshkar Bhawan, Canacona.
Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanawade, Speaking on this occasion, said that Canacona is the gold-mine of Karlakaras(Artists). Similarly, Canaocna Taluka have played an important role in Goa’s liberation struggle. While contributing in the field of education, Canacona had also given Goa’s administration sincere and dutiful officers. Tanavade also expressed the opinion that while glorifying the work of the Canaocna Kalakar Sangh so far, should hand over this task to the younger generation, and encash on the available youth power.
17th Sangeet Samelan organising Chairman Ramakant Komarpant, CMC Councillor Sara Shambha Naik Desai, Dr. Pravin Gaonkar, Councilor Hemant Naik Gaonkar, Samelan chairperson Manuja Naik Gaonkar, Secretary Harishchandra Kholkar, Treasurer Satish Desai, sahityakar Kamlakar Mhalshi were present on the platform.
In the beginning, dignitaries lit the lamp and declared inauguration of the 17th Sangeet Samelan. Also Floral garlands were placed on the potraints of Pt. Agni and Mrs. Lolyekar.
A souvenir was also released on the occasion. Ajit Painginkar, the founder member of the Canacona Kalakar Sangh was falicitated, Vijay Chari, who received awards in the field of education, Pratima Prabhudesai, Chandralekha Mestri and artists Shashikant Mhalshi, Gajanan Pagi were felicitated by presenting shawls, shrifal, Certificates and mementos.. Similarly, emerging artists like Swastik Venkataray Naik, Sampada Prabhudesai, Barkha Naik, Abhishek Mhalshi and Suyesh Kamat were felicitated by Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Tanavade on this occasion.
The samelan was moderated by Mansi Valve and Anil Phaldesai. The program was commenced with Ganesha Vandana.
