PANAJI: MGP’s annual general body meeting today has officially expelled former general secretary and former MGP MLA Lavu Mamledar from the party for six years for gross breach of discipline.
The decsion was taken during the AGM in which the committee members passed the resolution.
The AGM also unanimously has resolved to adopt new Central Committee under President Deepak Dhavalikar and decided that it would contest upcoming Municipality election.
Addressing the media, MGP President said that former general secretary and former MGP MLA Lavu Mamledar has been officially expelled from the party for six years for gross breach of discipline.
“We have decided that MGP will contest upcoming municipality elections, also the agm decided to set up a discipline committee to keep a check on anti party statements and activities,” said Dhavalikar
“The results of the elections show that party is united,” he said
Deepak’ Dhavalikar was yesterday re-elected as the President of MGP, as his panel had a clean sweep during the party’s central committee elections.
Total 500 delegates out of total 900 voted which was held by secret ballot. Ponda block did not attended the election process.Dhavalikar polled total 409 votes as against rival Nilesh Patekar who managed to get only 33 votes.
Pratap Fadte was elected as party’s working president while Krishnanth Divkar was elected as the Vice President.
Anant Naik and Ratnakar Mardolkar are elected unopposed as Treasurer and General Secretary, respectively.
The other elected members of the Committee include Shantaram Gaude, Shivdas Gaude, Naresh Gaude, Sudip Korgaonkar, Francis Lobo, Anil Naik, Ranu Naik, Mahesh Panshikar, Mahesh Satekar, Sandeep Verekar and Shripad Yende.
