KUWAIT: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas attended the World Goa Day 2025 celebrations in Kuwait as a special guest, following an invitation from the Goan Cultural Centre–Kuwait. The event brought together the Goan community to celebrate the State’s heritage, culture, and global unity.
During his visit, Capt. Viegas, along with Carmo Santos, President of the Goan Cultural Centre–Kuwait, called on Sanjay Muluka, Charge d’Affaires and Officiating Ambassador, Embassy of India–Kuwait.
In the meeting, Capt. Viegas presented a three-point agenda aimed at enhancing Goa–Kuwait ties and fostering tourism and cultural exchange:
Direct Flight Between Kuwait and Goa – To facilitate travel for Goans working in Kuwait and strengthen tourism links.
Tourism & Event Collaboration – To encourage participation of Kuwait-based tourism professionals and event managers in Goa’s International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and other cultural events.
Tourism Partnership Between Governments – To promote joint initiatives between the Governments of Goa and Kuwait for mutual growth in the travel and hospitality sectors.
Addressing Goans at the celebration, Capt. Viegas said,
“It was an absolute pleasure to meet Goans abroad. I urge all Goans in Kuwait and around the world — let us preserve Goa’s Asmutai and build a Goa of our dreams for our Fudle Pilge Khatir (future generations).”
He expressed gratitude to the Goan Cultural Centre–Kuwait and its President Carmo Santos for their warm hospitality and for their continued efforts in keeping Goan traditions alive.
The event, marked by cultural performances and community interactions, reaffirmed the strong sense of Goemkarponn uniting Goans across the globe.
