MORMUGAO: Sankalp Amonkar, MLA of Mormugao, inaugurated an upgraded 220 KVA transformer at Sada on Saturday, as part of a major initiative to address long-standing issues with power supply in the region.
This transformer is one of 25 new upgraded transformers installed across the constituency as part of a strategic effort to enhance electricity distribution and reliability.
At the inauguration event, MLA Amonkar emphasized the importance of modernizing the area’s infrastructure to meet growing demands and provide residents with consistent power.
The newly upgraded transformers aim to address frequent outages and voltage issues, offering immediate relief to residents who have struggled with erratic power for years.
In a significant announcement, MLA Amonkar revealed plans for an additional 27-crore project designed to further strengthen the power infrastructure in Mormugao.
Under this project, the Bogda substation will receive a direct power supply from Verna, creating a more stable and efficient power distribution network.
This initiative is expected to improve the resilience of the local power grid and significantly reduce power disruptions.
“We are committed to addressing the pressing issues that have impacted residents for years,” said Amonkar. “This investment is not just about infrastructure; it’s about improving the quality of life for the people of Mormugao.
The new direct line from Verna to Bogda substation will be a game-changer for reliable and uninterrupted power supply in our constituency.”
The announcement has been well-received by local residents, who expressed optimism about the transformative effect these upgrades will have on their daily lives.
The project aligns with MLA Amonkar’s broader vision of infrastructural progress and sustainable development in Mormugao.
With the completion of these initiatives, Mormugao is set to see a substantial improvement in power supply stability, providing much-needed relief to the constituency’s residents and businesses alike.
