MORMUGAO: Mormugao Police have arrested a man in connection with an alleged sexual assault case involving a minor girl at Baina.
The case was registered following a complaint by the minor’s mother, whose identity has been withheld. According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Munna Jaiswar, a resident of Mormugao, allegedly befriended the minor between January and May 2026 at TNK, Baina.
Police said the accused allegedly developed a close relationship with the girl and touched her inappropriately. Taking advantage of their acquaintance, he allegedly subjected the minor to sexual intercourse on different occasions, resulting in her pregnancy.
Jaiswar was subsequently arrested in connection with the case.
Further investigation is being conducted by LPSI Laureen Sequeira of Mormugao Police Station.
