MORMUGAO: Mormugao is set to witness a vibrant celebration of culture and entertainment as the “Mormugao Summer Fest 2026” will be held on April 25 and 26 at Headland, Sada. The two-day festival, announced by Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar in association with the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), promises a diverse mix of traditional and contemporary attractions aimed at bringing the community together.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday along with GTDC Chairman Kedar Naik, Amonkar said the festival is the first-of-its-kind initiative in the constituency and is designed to showcase Goa’s rich cultural heritage while boosting tourism in the region. He stated that the event will feature a wide array of performances and activities, including traditional Dindi processions, Shigmo performances, folk dances, and music acts.
One of the key highlights of the festival will be a drone show, marking a first for the Mormugao constituency. The event will also include fashion shows, LED performances, and stand-up comedy, offering a blend of cultural and modern entertainment for visitors of all age groups. Renowned artists such as singer Hema Sardesai and playback singer Sudesh Bhosle are scheduled to perform, adding star value to the festivities.
Amonkar said the initiative is aimed at promoting local talent and providing a platform for artists, performers, and small businesses from the region. He added that the festival is not only about entertainment but also about strengthening cultural identity and encouraging greater participation from the community.
GTDC Chairman Kedar Naik said the corporation is committed to supporting such initiatives that promote tourism and showcase Goa’s traditions in an engaging manner. He noted that events like the Summer Fest play a key role in attracting visitors and creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
With a packed schedule and a mix of cultural and modern attractions, the Mormugao Summer Fest 2026 is expected to draw large crowds and add to the festive spirit in the coastal belt.
