PANAJI: Education Department has instructed the management of all the unaided Primary, Secondary & Higher Secondary Schools not to hike the school fees for the the academic year.
The matter was discussed during the last Academic Year 2020-2021 and the circular for the same has been issued.
“It is hereby instructed to the Management of all the Unaided Primary/Secondary/Higher Secondary Schools in the State of Goa, not to hike the school fees for the Academic Year 2021-2022. This is issued with the approval of the Government vide,” the education dept circular states
During the present COVID-19 crisis the Directorate of Education, Government of Gon was requested to intervene in the matter of fees levied by the Unaided schools.
The matter was discussed during the last Academic Year 2020-2021 and a circular to that effect was issued by this office to take necessary steps and withdraw the fee hike for the Academic Year 2020-2021.
The matter was also heard by the Supreme Court of India, regarding the pleas of unaided private schools in Rajasthan.
“Now in order to maintain equality the Government has decided not to permit any fee hike for the present Academic Year 2021-2022 and to retain the same fee(s) structure as of the last year,” it states
