PANAJI: The Crime Branch police investigating the case of Bashudev Bhandari, a 22-year-old man from Gujarat who went missing, have stated that the probe is still underway and has not produced any new information.
On September 1, Bhandari was driving a rental automobile when it fell into the river from the ferry dock at St Estevam, Tiswadi, raising the possibility that he perished.
Rahul Gupta, SP for the Crime Branch, stated that the case has not seen any significant developments.
The Old Goa police claimed to have investigated every possibility in light of the family’s assertion that Bashudev must have fled out of fear, but they were unable to locate him.
Along with a female acquaintance who attends a management college in Sankhali, Bashudev was making the journey from Sankhali to Panaji. Following an accident at Marcel, the couple was allegedly being pursued by another four-wheeler.
As the investigation progressed, the Goa-registered vehicle involved in the minor collision was located close to Hubballi, and its driver and one of its passengers—both from Belagavi—were taken to the Old Goa police station to be questioned.
Both of the Belagavi natives had pursued the car that Bashudev was driving after a small accident since he left the scene with the vehicle without consulting anybody to resolve the issue. But according to police sources, they failed to spot Bashudev’s car, which had sunk.
