PANAJI: The District Level Committee (DLC) for North Goa, chaired by Collector Ankit Yadav, IAS, has approved 34 claims under the Forest Rights Act, 2006, during a meeting held to review applications from Nanoda and Pansulim villages.
A total of 62 claims were taken up for consideration. Of these, 34 were approved, while 16 were rejected. Two claims have been scheduled for personal hearings, and 10 have been referred back to the Sub-Divisional Level Committee (SDLC) for clarification.
The meeting was convened to examine and decide claims submitted under the provisions of the Forest Rights Act, 2006, in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
