DABOLIM: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Members today alleged that Islamic workshops have been taking place for the last many years wherein students from these schools were taken.
VHP visited the Government Higher Secondary School in Baina, where 30 students were allegedly taken for the Islamic Workshop at Masjid.
“We just came to meet the authorities here as around 30 students were taken to the masjid. We have come across that this workshop has been going on for last many years,” said VHP Members
They said that the schools had no information about the various ritual and wearing of Hijab taking place during these workshops.
“The students were made to perform Muslim religion rituals and wearing of Hijab” they said
Principal of a Keshav Smriti Higher Secondary Schoolin Goa was suspended by the management after Hindu organisations alleged that he allowed students to visit mosque, where they were allegedly forced to wear hijab.
Director, Directorate of Education, Shailesh Zingade told that he has sought an explanation over the incident from the management of the higher secondary school.
State president, Jammat-e-Islami Hind, parent body of SIO, Goa zone, which had organised the workshop, said that such activities are routine and events at the mosque have been an annual feature.
The VHP however, alleged that it was part of a conspiracy to “brainwash young children and an attempt to carry out religious conversions.
