PANAJI: The National Security Guard (NSG), Mumbai, provided the Goa Police with a 14-day specialized training in Bomb Disposal and Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).
A group of professionals led by Major B Venkatesh, YR-IM Surjit Metei, and KR-II Shubham Nikam conducted the training, which took place at the Police Training School in Valpoi from January 8–21.
28 police officers from different police stations and units participated in the intense course, which covered a number of important subjects, Goa Police PRO SP Rahul Gupta told the media.
These included instruction on how to use specialized bomb disposal equipment and counter-IED operations, an introduction to different explosive kinds and their properties, and the efficient use of explosive sniffer dogs in danger identification and neutralization.
According to the SP, all employees received certificates of completion on Tuesday.
