CALANGUTE: Calangute Police arrested a 34-year-old man from Odisha after allegedly finding him in possession of 852 grams of suspected ganja valued at approximately ₹85,000 during a narcotics raid on Monday night.
According to police, the raid was conducted on July 21, 2026, between 8:56 pm and 9:49 pm near Kattalkhana Road, Naikawado, Calangute, based on information received by the police.
The accused has been identified as Subrata Behara, son of Bimala Behara, a resident of Chandaneswar, Baleshwar district, Odisha. During the search, police allegedly recovered a greenish leafy, flowery and fruity substance suspected to be ganja weighing 852 grams. The contraband, estimated to be worth around ₹85,000, was seized under a search and seizure panchanama.
