MORJIM: One minor girls aged 16 years staying at Morjim Pernem Goa drowned in sea water at Morjim beach on May 22. She was studying in 10 th standard.
As per PI Pernem PS the minor girl along with other 03 cousins had entered the sea water late after 06:30 pm . Looks like to avoid the sight of police patrolling and life guards.
Further due to recent Tautke cyclone the sea conditions are still rough and dangerous.
All the cousins were pulled into the sea by high current of tides but they were rescued. The deceased girl was rescued and found in unconscious stage and immediately shifted to Goa medical college Bambolim where she expired while undergoing treatment while the other cousin are under treatment.
Further today at GMC Bambolim post mortem examination was conducted and dead body was handed over to her Relatives.
PI Dalvi has requested to the general public not to wander in the sea specially during rough sea weather and when we are facing such a serious COVID Pandemic , during curfew period.
“ Police cannot forcibly put public inside there houses every time , they must willingly follow curfew too”
“Taking the advantage of darkness this family went in sea water and precious life of minor girl is lost “
Pernem Police have registered a case of unnatural death PSI Praful Giri conducted Panchanama . Further investigation is in progress.
