New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, lauded the Indian Army personnel for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, conducted in response to the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22. Speaking at the Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar, Singh paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers involved in the operation.
“First of all, I bow to the supreme sacrifice made by our brave jawans while fighting terrorism and terrorists. I pay my respects to their memory, as well as to the innocent civilians who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack,” Singh said. He also extended his wishes for the speedy recovery of injured personnel.
Highlighting the Indian Army’s decisive response, Singh stated, “The way you have defeated the enemy — they will never be able to forget it. Operation Sindoor is more than just a military mission; it is a symbol of our national resolve. It demonstrates that India not only defends itself but is also fully capable of delivering a powerful response when needed.”
During his visit, the Defence Minister also inspected the remains of Pakistani shells fired into Indian territory. Several pieces of debris from the shelling were put on display at the cantonment, underscoring the hostile actions that prompted the retaliatory strike.
Operation Sindoor, named symbolically to reflect courage and sacrifice, stands as a testament to India’s firm stance against cross-border terrorism and its continued commitment to protecting national sovereignty.
