Margao: “Welcome to Margao, the Most Deteriorating City of Goa! Hope you will see with your own eyes the mess created by the BJP Government in the last twelve years in the Commercial Capital of Goa,” said Congress Leader & Zilla Panchayat Member Michelle Rebelo.
Reacting to the announcement made by BJP South Goa Candidate Pallavi Dempo to visit Margao on Monday 8th April 2024 to meet vendors & workers in New Market and other Locations, Congress Leader Michelle Rebelo has highlighted various issues plaguing Margao for the last many years.
“I hope Pallavi Dempo will walk in every lane of New Market in Margao which is in a total Mess. She should understand the lack of Fire Safety in the congested Market and also have a look at Illegal Encroachments, see how Garbage is dumped in the lanes connecting Market Road and Pickup Stand Road,” said Michelle Rebelo.
BJP South Goa Candidate should also see the Haphazard Parking around Margao New Market. When she walks on Old Station Road, she will get the real feel of how a City can get ruined despite being represented by the former Chief Minister of Goa, stated Michelle Rebelo.
Let Pallavi Dempo remember her childhood days in Aquem while having a round at the North Side of Konkan Railway Station. She will realise there is a complete collapse of Law and Order. Defector MLA Digambar Kamat who is the Godfather of Illegal Shops all along the road from Victor Hospital to the North Side of Konkan Railway Station will guide her on how to nurture a vote bank, said Michelle Rebelo.
The road outside Azad Nagari on Margao-Quepem Road few meters away from ESI Hospital deserves a special visit from Pallavi Dempo. I hope she will find time to visit Fakir Baandh and Moti Dongor too to understand the plight of the people there who live under constant threats of “Mafias” patronised by “Baba of Margao”, Michelle Rebelo said.
She should ask Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and also Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant why the City is allowed to deteriorate when it is giving maximum revenue to the State, Michelle Rebelo said.
