SHIRODA: A 61-year-old man sustained grievous injuries after being hit by a scooter at Shiroda.
As per the complaint lodged by Head Constable Sarang Opkar of Ponda Police Station, the incident occurred when the accused, Sumer Singh (30), a resident of Shiroda and native of Rajasthan, was riding his Access scooter in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Borim to Shiroda.
Upon reaching Shiroda, Singh allegedly knocked down pedestrian Ulhas Naik, who was walking along the same direction.
The impact caused both the rider and the pedestrian to fall on the road.
Naik suffered serious injuries and is currently undergoing medical treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. Police are investigating the matter further.
