PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that people should not oppose projects “unnecessarily’.
“People should not oppose projects “unnecessarily and not to create any hindrance to development works,” said Sawant.
He further said that building a marina project is preferable to building a port in the state.
“Yes, it is necessary to maintain and safeguard our lovely towns and state, but it is also necessary to carry out development projects,” he added.
CM said that although he believes that opposing anything and everything is incorrect, we do accept constructive criticism.
Sawant also expressed confidence that state will win the ‘Mhadei’ case, being heard in Supreme Court, against Karnataka.
“We are very much serious about the case and evidence wise we are very much strong. We are confident that the state will win the case,” Sawant added
The Supreme Court has listed the hearing of the Mhadei river issue for November 29.
Sawant said that his legal team is taking review of the matter and are focused on the issue.
Since the Central Water Commission accepted the comprehensive project report that Karnataka had prepared for the contentious Kalasa-Banduri dam, the BJP government in Goa has come under fire. After that, the Goa government was compelled to form a House Committee to address the matter.
