Pernem: Pernem police have arrested one Karnataka native for causing the death of another driver on NH 66 Highway.
Early morning a truck had dashed to a pickup vehicle on NH66 Highway causing the death of the driver namely Niyaz Zari, R/o Dabolim, Vasco. Further, the truck driver fled from the spot along with the truck.
Upon receiving information Pernem Police managed to trace the truck bearing reg no MH-08-AP-6543 along with its driver Mr.Mutappa Kolakar, age 37 yrs N/o Bijapur, Karnataka and placed him under arrest under sections 281, 106(1) of BNS and Sec 134(a)(b) of MV Act.
Further investigation is in progress.
