PANAJI: The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has said that the Goa Solar Rooftop portal is a good step towards harnessing solar energy and furthering sustainable development. Solar Rooftop Online Portal goasolar.in has been developed by Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) in association with the Department of New & Renewable Energy and Electricity Department.
In reply to a tweet thread by Goa Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, the Prime Minister tweeted:
“Good step towards harnessing solar energy and furthering sustainable development.”
PM’s response came on CM Dr Pramod Sawant’s tweet which read, “Launched the Solar Rooftop Online Portal http://goasolar.in developed by Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) in association with Department of New & Renewable Energy and Electricity Department.”
Sawant said the entire process of application, processing of the application, installation of the solar project and the release of subsidy will be done online through the portal.
The user-friendly portal shall also enable the consumer to determine the requirement of solar panels for the desired result using the details on the regular electricity bill.
“I congratulate ‘Aha Solar’ Co. of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, for the development & training of the GEDA personnel to use the portal. I am sure the portal will be useful to people and organisations who shall adopt rooftop solar power generation,” he said.
