PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Wednesday announced an investment of ₹180 crore to further strengthen Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across Goa, while stating that the state is the only one in the country where all ITIs are ISO certified.
Highlighting the government’s focus on skill development, the Chief Minister said ITI students have the potential to become successful entrepreneurs and industrialists, contributing to economic growth through skill-based education.
Dr. Sawant also outlined key reforms in the ITI education system, including collaborations with colleges and the introduction of Goa Board equivalency certificates.
He said students who complete Class 10 along with a two-year ITI course will now be recognised as equivalent to Class 12, enabling them to pursue higher education and access better employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister said the reforms are aimed at making vocational education more attractive while equipping students with the skills needed to meet industry demands and build successful careers.
