Panaji: Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) will host “Purumentachem Fest” from May 1 to 3, 2026, at the Multiplex Courtyard, bringing together local artisans, entrepreneurs and food vendors to celebrate Goa’s rich monsoon traditions.
The festival aims to highlight products and practices associated with the rainy season, offering a platform for participants to showcase and sell a wide range of traditional items. Applications are currently open for Goan artisans, self-help groups, small businesses and food vendors interested in setting up stalls.
The event will feature diverse categories, including dry fish, agricultural produce and spices, traditional Goan sweets, household tools and utensils, pottery and earthenware, and ceramic storage items. Participants can also present nursery and kitchen garden products, locally extracted oils, and seasonal fruit-based items such as raw mango, cashew, kokum and tamarind.
In addition, the festival will include homemade food products like pickles, masalas and papad, as well as items made from coir, traditional fishing tools and accessories, and indigenous grains and millets. The initiative is designed to promote local livelihoods while preserving cultural knowledge linked to seasonal living in Goa.
Application forms are available at the ESG office and can also be accessed through the official website. Stall allocation will be carried out on a first come, first served basis, encouraging early registration from interested participants.
“Purumentachem Fest” is expected to attract both locals and visitors, offering an authentic glimpse into Goa’s monsoon lifestyle through its food, crafts and traditional products.
