PANAJI: AICC Goa Desk In-Charge Dinesh Gundu Rao today said that unexpected entry of TMC in Goa and at poaching and hijacking leaders from other political parties.
Rao also alleged that this was a VRS retirement scheme for Faleiro.
“Suddenly coming here and poaching and hijacking leaders from other political parties is not a good thing for the culture of Goa and healthy democracy. What TMC is doing is not in the political or developmental interest of Goa,” he said.
He further said that they have many candidate options in each constituency and that Congress is a strong party in Goa.
“Those who leave do so for their personal agendas to gain personal benefits; this looks like a VRS retirement scheme for Faleiro,” Rao said.
“Suddenly coming here and poaching and hijacking leaders from other political parties is not a good thing for the culture of Goa and healthy democracy,” he said.
What TMC is doing is not in the political or developmental interest of Goa. Party should be built from the grassroots level, questioned Rao.
“There are many people from the Navelim constituency who want to contest the Goa Assembly Election under the Congress banner,” Dinesh Gundu Rao revealed.
The AICC Goa Desk Incharge also said that Faleiro’s resignation is not a setback for Congress but a blessing.
“Faleiro had lost touch with the people in his constituency. We were reassessing the situation there. There are many aspirants in Navelim,” Gundu said.
Rao said that there was no clarity about what Faleiro was saying. “Sometimes, when speaking the truth, it does not require too much of thought. Within five minutes, you can tell people what you are thinking. But when you are deceptive, you create a story or fiction. There was no truth coming out from his (Faleiro’s) heart. He was deceptive,” Rao said.
GPCC President Girish Chodankar said that Luizinho Faleiro had quiet Congress when he was required to fight BJP in the state and that Goans will never forgive him for this.
“He has negotiated his retirement plan, but he should have done it before or after elections. At least not after enjoying all top posts in the Congress,” he added.
The GPCC president said that nobody can stop Congress from coming to power after the 2022 Assembly elections.
Leader of the Opposition Digambar Kamat said that he will continue to raise people’s voices in the Assembly. People of Goa have appreciated that opposition parties work both in the Assembly and outside. “My role will be to raise people’s issues forcefully and force the government to solve people’s issues.”
